I have a lifelong love affair with leatherand. I have dozens of leather and suede pieces collected over many years. I have jackets from Vanson, Ralph Lauren, Cockpit, Avirex, Andrew Marc and two from Schott. I bought a 118 last year and recently this PER70. They are all great but this PER70 is my favorite. Here's why.

It's not as heavy as the classic 118, nor as light as the 626 lambskin. It's the perfect Goldilocks weight for me. It's supple with a soft hand and broken in right out of the box. Yet it's rugged and tough and offers ample protection from the elements. The cut is perfect and at 6 feet, 178 pounds, size medium is the perfect size for me. In a short time it fit me like an Italian driving glove. It's not jet black like the 118, but a very dark grey. Unlike the 118 that has a more polished finish, the PER70 is matte. The distressing is not overdone. It's just enough to make it really look like I've been wearing it for 20 years. It has a bi-swing back but not the football under the arms. This gives a better fit than the 118 while still allowing for arm movement. The cotton retro Gingham lining is more comfortable and nicer-looking than the synthetic 118. Even the zippers and buckle are brushed nickel-platted and not polished like the 118. I prefer that finish.

All things considered this is really a masterpiece and Schott should be proud of their creation.

My only complaint is that the sleeves on both jackets were way too long. They were down to my thumb. I realize that motor jackets are supposed to have longer sleeves than normal for riding, but for me I need them to stop at my wrist. Fortunately they offer alterations for $85 plus shipping charges both ways. Shortening the zippered sleeves correctly is no easy task and must be done by the factory. Of course they did a perfect job on both.

For all these reason I can highly recommend the PER70 Vintage jacket. If you get one it will instantly become your favorite, as it has become mine.

Very cool jacket

I own four other leather jackets from top brands like Aero and Thedi, and this might be the coolest looking one yet. Super happy with it.

I first ordered a large but exchanged it for a medium that fits like a glove. I’m 6’1”, 200 lbs, athletic build, 43” chest, 18.5” shoulders, 37” waist, and 25.5” arm length. The online tool recommended a large for slim fit and a medium for super slim. Based on the spec sheets from Schott said a large should fit, but it was too big , especially in the waist and sleeve width. It looked like the jacket was wearing me. I also noticed the large measured about half an inch bigger in every area than the sheet showed. I’d say what Schott is calling super slim is closer to a true slim in the traditional sense, with this model as this this is a boxier cut vs. a more tapered cut. The online tool listed large for both slim and regular fits, but if you want a true slim fit, size down and get a super slim fit per the tool. This jacket runs big.

The medium is spot on. It’s comfortable, not tight, and not restrictive, keep in mind I’m not looking to layer more than a flannel shirt with this. If you need to layer thick sweatshirts etc., opt for the slim or regular fit per Schotts online tool. .

Also, Check lthe spec sheets carefully. Just ask for them via chat. Schott’s customer service is very helpful.

The leather is soft, pliable, and not restrictive. It’s veg tanned, so it’s squeaky.. The jacket is heavy but feels broken in right away. The finish is tasteful and gives it character. It doesn’t look fake or forced, more like a natural way to show off the leather’s color. Overall, it’s a beautiful and very cool addition to the lineup.

TOTALLY LIVES UP TO THE HYPE

After staring at the Per70 online for the last 2-3 years, I finally ordered one earlier this week. I was prepared to be disappointed, thinking there was no way the jacket could live up to about 40 insanely great reviews, or if did, it wouldn't fit well. But it does. It just does. Amazing. I'm 6'3", 225 lbs,, with a 46" chest. I ordered the XL.. It fits perfectly in the shoulders. I was worried the sleeves wouldn't be long enough, but they're perfect, too. Love the way it was distressed. Ordered on Tuesday, delivered to Chicago on Friday. It just sucks that I have to take it off occasionally to shower. I'm in love.

Wow, wow, and wow!

The distressing on my PER70 was a little extra, but it doesn't matter all that much. It's a seriously badass jacket with that classic 50s/70s vibe. It's literally perfect. I am 168lbs, 5'6 with a muscular build and the medium fit like it was made for me. This jacket is a 100% win, but it's distressed looking so make sure you like that look. It was a lot of money, but I'm glad I did it. It's officially the best jacket I've ever owned. I'll wear it to the death.

Nothing short of amazing

If you are looking for a top quality jacket, Schott is the way to go. All the details are insane. I got this one in a size small. I’m 6’1 and 80kilos and wanted a slim fit look and it’s perfect.

All the way nice! As comfortable as a T-shirt

This jacket captures all the essence of what a broken in jacket should be. The distressing is honestly minimal and the finish is great. I've gotten so many compliments on it. I originally ordered a medium per the size guide and should have stayed with it but exchanged it for a large which fits great but eh medium, upon further reflection, was the best. I hastily thought it was too small but it would have broken in and been just right. My large is not too big at all, but just isn't as slim fitting as the medium. I just bought a 626 in a medium and the fit is absolutely insane. Trust the size guide. Per70 is a little heavier than the 626, so I'm actually glad to have both. Those are the 2 best looking and best fitting double rider style jackets they sell that have bi-swing arms. If you want a jacket for good looks and a great fit for going to concerts and such, then either get the Per70 or the 626, you simply cannot go wrong. The per70 having a duller flatter type finish out of the box but the 626 will dull up a bit too after breaking in. Both of these are their strongest contenders in my opinion and are wildly popular because they capture the look and the fit perfectly. If you are on the fence about either model, don't be. They are effing badass. You will instantly be empowered with a state of awesomeness.

Quintessential Concert Rocker Jacket

Has the look and feel you are looking for. Has a snap for the buckle. Awesome fitted feel. Have received complements everyday I've worn it practically. I bought the Per70 and also a 234 which is also amazing as well as a 626vn for my girlfriend. All the jackets have surpassed our expectations on every level. Magnitudes better than the cheap jacket you had in high school. Broken in like a pair of jeans right out of the box. Enjoy the elevated confidence that comes with wearing this classic jacket.

Absolute BadA$$ Jacket!!!

I ride a Harley Davidson as my daily. The leather in the PER 70 is so nice and it looks like I have worn this jacket for the 30 years! I did get a Knox under armor as the jacket does not come with armor. I do feel my that the thick quality vegetable tan leather and the jackets construction will definitely hold up for the next 100 years. If you are on the fence about this jacket just pull the trigger and get it. If you like that vintage look and feel this your next best thing. I will be having this jacket tailored. I orders an XL because I’m wearing armor. The jacket is a bit relaxed and and waist area is too big. I am 6.1 ht l, have a 44.5 in chest and wear a 32 inch waist. I called the Schott store in LA and they referred me a tailor near by. As an everyday jacket without armor the Large would have been perfect. The XL fits me like the model in the Schott website. Little big. Thanks for keeping your quality high Schott family!

Like I got my friend back

I own several Schott leather jackets and love them all. I had a 618 that I bought used from the Harley dealer when I bought my first new street bike back in ‘98. Sadly I let it go after a few years but always missed it. I thought about buying a new one but there’s just something about a broken in biker jacket that, well, makes it a biker jacket. I finally broke down and tried the per70 and couldn’t be happier! The fit is a little slimmer and more modern which is a plus for me. The distressing is convincing and well done. The finish seemed a bit dull and dry but a little conditioner made it pop. I’m 6’ 185 and the L is a good fit with a little extra room to layering underneath. If you want a biker/rock n roll style jacket that looks like you’ve been wearing it for a decade buy this one. You’ll love it!

THE Motorcycle jackett

The quality is way better than the Harley Davidson jackets I have. This is THE badass jacket. I put 4 stars cause its very expensive, but its made in USA. I usually wear XL, but the site recommend XXL, and it is perfect. I'm 6’1, 220lbs and athletic.
Service by Denise in chat was A+, thanks!

Just what I was looking for.

So I was sitting at home watching American Pickers and thought how cool it would be to have a vintage looking motorcycle jacket. That true 50’s look, all beat up but told a story when you looked at it. I hopped on the inter webs in search for such a jacket when I found this one. Soon as I saw it, I had to have it. Used the fit guide which suggested I should get a medium. Definitely was skeptical about that size since I’m typically a large, but I got it anyways. Turns out I should’ve went with my instinct and got a large. Once I got the right size it fits perfect. So I’d trust your gut on which size you think you’ll need. The difference between the fade on the medium I got and the fade on the large I got is quite drastic. Being able to see that really lets me know that each jacket is truly unique. If you’re like me and you came across this jacket looking for the same thing I was then I’m here to tell you that you will not be disappointed. Mike Wolfe eat your heart out.

Really nice Jacket

I usually never write reviews, however I decided to do so because the reviews written by others really helped me in choosing the correct size.
I am an athletic male : Height 5.7ft. Weight 176lb.
chest : 42.5inch..
I wanted the jacket to feel snug and not loose so. based on many reviews, i leaned towards Large. I also contacted customer service and Denise confirmed Large would be my size.
I have to say that the jacket fits very well. The shoulders and the length of the sleeves are perfect and it fits perfect just around the arm pits. I would have preferred a slightly slimmer cut but its not the end of the world ! it still looks great.
At first, the jacket will feel stiff and hard....keep in mind that its heavy, but I am sure the more its worn, then softer it will get.
its worth the investment !!!

Solid jacket

Nothing but good things from me and the people who've seen it.
Solid jacket. I mean 'solid'. The leather is weighty and durable, with zippers as hefty as tank treads.
I'm 5'11, 38" chest, 175lbs, and a Medium fits me the exact way it's shown in the model pics. It's a relaxed fit in between form fitting and baggy. I can pinch about 2" of extra material between my arm and the sleeves, the torso, about a fist full when zipped, and the length buts the jacket buckle about in line with my pants belt. The length of the sleeves stop just short of the base of my thumb.
It's maybe not the most insulated jacket (though it certainly heats up when it get's warmer), but it's nothing a long sleeve or anything similar couldn't fix.
I look forward to having this for a good while.

Wow. Impressive!

It is all you hope it will be and more. So, order it. Plain and simple it will absolutely be everything you are wanting even now while you are shopping. Wow. Just...wow. If I could guarantee your satisfaction, I would...but heck...Schott has you covered there. Let me close with...WOW.

Best Fitting Jacket I have ever owned!

I am 6'1", 42.5" chest, 186lbs. The sizing guide says Large and it is dead on accurate. I want to layer and on the high side for chest so wasn't sure if I should get L or XL, I am glad I ordered the L as it fits perfect with a t-shirt or sweatshirt underneath. The only place it is a little bit snug with the sweatshirt is in the shoulders, when I reach for my ape hangers on my Harley. The XL would have been too big, because I can put the belt on the last hole with a T-shirt I have a 34" waist. Lastly, I was deciding between this and the 118, but I am glad I spent the extra money and went with the PER70. No way I could beat the 118 up enough to make it look this good!

a nice jacket

I have dozens of leather jackets.
I like leather jackets very much.

The jacket I bought this time has a good fit and a good design.
However, due to the characteristics of leather, the zipper is slightly crumpled.
However, it does not affect the overall style.
I will wear it when I ride Harley-Davidson.
If I have a chance, I want to buy more products.

Awesome jacket

I live in Holland and took a risk purchasing this online because they don’t sell it in Europe. The jacket looks awesome and fits really well. I needed a Large I’m 175cm tall and weigh 88 kilos atheletic build. If your looking for a classic vintage look this is your jacket. No regrets buying this.

Amazing jacket with attitude!

This is the jacket you want! The craftsmanship, the unique vintage look and of course, the attitude - this jacket excels in all of these areas. I’m 5’ 5” 185 lbs with a 43-44” chest and the Large fits great. I originally ordered the XL but it was very roomy (too roomy) in the chest so I ordered the L and was sold. I can still wear a hoody underneath for layering but the jacket looks great with just a t-shirt. Don’t think twice. This is the Schott jacket is for you!

INCREDIBLE

Wow! Words cannot describe the how awesome this jacket it. When you first take it out of the box you just have to take a moment stand back in awe and appreciate its perfection - it's that gorgeous! I am 5'11' and pretty skinny -about 150-160lbs and I ordered a small and it fits perfectly. I am so happy with the jacket and you can just tell the qaulity is second to none

Great purchase!

Very high quality and style is perfectly described in the item description.
I returned size L and purchased XL. The shoulders were tight in the L and the body/waist is a bit roomy in the XL. I purchased this for my husband. He is 6'3", needs extra sleeve length as well and has an athletic build.

Head turning jacket

I don’t mean to sound big headed, but the first day I wore this to take a walk to get coffee, two men, at different spots along the way, turned their heads to look at this jacket. This is my fifth Schott jacket and, like the others, it is comfortable, warm in cold weather, high quality, and very, very cool.
